Surf Hire

If you are travelling to the Westport or Louisburgh area and don’t have space for your own gear, SURFMAYO can provide you with all the necessary surf equipment.

We have an extensive range of soft top surfboards, wetsuits, boots and hoods for both the experienced & novice surfer for all seasons.

To arrange surf gear hire for a small number of people, please just drop us a call 24 – 48 hours in advance and we can advise you of the best time to arrive to us based on local tides, surf forecast and bookings. This is to ensure we have surf gear available for your requirements.

If you are looking to rent gear for a larger group, please contact us a few days in advance if possible and we will arrange a time slot for your crew. We can be contacted on +353877786821.

Please note as part of SURFMAYO Health & Safety regulations and for your enjoyment, we cannot rent out surf gear to people that have never surfed before. They must have had an ISA approved surf lesson previously and be competent in the water with surf equipment.

Me and my fiancee had a two-session private intro to surfing with Charles at beautiful Carrowinski beach during our stay in Ireland in April. He is an excellent surf instructor that teaches you the basics before letting you advance to the next level, which helped us a lot. He gives clear advice on what to focus on as well as honest feedback about what could be improved. Everything was really well organised and prepared. I highly recommend lessons with the Surf Mayo team!

Elvis and the team are fantastic! I was a complete beginner and after an hour I was up and flying around. Definitely get the lessons too, way better than trying to wing it. Really great value! Will be going back as soon as i can

Myself and my little ones (aged 7 & 10) had a wonderful couple of days at Surf Mayo. The location is stunning & Elvis & Charles were absolutely amazing teachers - their tips and time spent teaching the children helped my little ones become confident and over the moon with their ability to surf! We’ve definitely got the bug for surfing due to the passion & patience of both Elvis & Charles. We will be back and highly recommend this wonderful surf school. Thank you!
